- New York, USA -

The dog in the pictures is Coco, a beautiful Shiba Inu.

On Monday, October 28, while Coco was in Albany visiting from North Carolina with her family, she dug a hole in the backyard of the home where they were staying and escaped from under the fence.

Coco was hit by a car and got stuck in the grill of the vehicle that hit her.

timesunion reports that the driver got out of the car as soon as she realized that she had hit something.

The motorist did not notice Coco in the grill and kept driving for about 45 minutes until she heard some whimpering and then stopped.

Once she realized that there was a dog trapped in the bumper, she called Rotterdam Police.

Police called animal control and Officer Patty Perez was able to get Coco out and took her to Hernas Veterinary Clinic in Schenectady.

An X-ray showed that the furbaby had a broken elbow which will require surgery.

Coco’s human mom, Kathleen Hamilton, was then tracked down by Officer Perez.

Hamilton set up a GoFundMe page to help her with Coco’s surgery’s costs.
