The dog you see in the picture was found by a Good Samaritan lying in a ditch on 53rd St. N. between Rock Road and Webb Road in Bel Aire on Tuesday, October 15.
Bel Aire Police Department was then contacted.
The department posted on their Facebook page, that with the help of Heartland Animal Hospital and Sedgwick County Animal Control, the poor pup was stabilized and taken by Animal Control to a vet.
It is unknown what caused the injuries the furbaby sustained.
The nonprofit Beauties and Beasts, Inc. have committed to helping this baby with his medical and emotional care. They named the furbaby Steele.
A few hours ago, Beauties and Beasts, Inc. have announced the passing of Steele.
Prior to this heartbreaking update, the nonprofit had posted:
“His condition is extremely guarded he has gone septic with concerns that his kidneys and liver are shutting down. Dr. Lofgreen and the amazing team at the Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital of Wichita are doing everything possible to save his life, the rest is in Gods hands.
We are praying that Steele feels surrounded with all of our love and finds the strength and will to live.”
Anyone who has information regarding Steele please come forward and contact the Police Department on (316) - 744 - 6000. Please be Steele’s voice!
