The Millville Police Department have launched an investigation after a dog was found lifeless in a crate abandoned in the woods off Kates Boulevard in Cumberland County on January 24.
The furbaby, a male Brindle Pit Bull mix believed to be between 6 and 9 months old, was wearing a sweater and a leash when he was discovered.
In the crate there were also some rags maybe intended to be used for bedding.
Millville Police wrote in their Facebook post that the dog was in poor condition.
Millville Police Captain Ross Hoffman said: “A necropsy done at a local animal clinic showed no sign of disease or trauma, but confirmed that the puppy's death appeared to be caused by human neglect.”
The Department wants to find the person(s) responsible for this crime and is reaching out to the public for assistance.
Whoever has done this to an innocent being cannot go unpunished and most definitely the pup deserves justice.
If anyone has witnessed this incident or recognizes the sweater or the leash or has useful information regarding this case, please come forward and do the right thing. Speak up!
