DEONE DAWN HARVEY JR. and JESSICA SAMUEL accused of failing to seek veterinary care for injured dog

The El Paso Police Department announced the arrest of 29-years-old DEONE DAWN HARVEY JR. and 30-years-old JESSICA SAMUEL (both pictured below).
The duo were arrested on Tuesday, February 22, by the Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit for cruelty to animals.
According to a press release by the EPPD, 21-years-old Destiny Marren Chavez left her dog with the couple while she was out of town.
When Ms. Chavez returned and went to pick up her dog, she noticed that the furbaby had an injury on her right paw.
Ms. Chavez then took her dog to the veterinarian and learned the devastating news.
The injury on her furbaby was so severe that it required amputation.
Police said that from an investigation it emerged that both HARVEY and SAMUEL were aware of the dog’s injury and did not take him/her to the vet to be treated.
HARVEY and SAMUEL, both of Northeast El Paso, were arrested and booked at the El Paso County Detention Facility.
Judge Horkowitz issued a meager $3,000 bond.
Online records show they both bonded out of jail!

Since I live in Texas, I am truly appalled at the abuse (appears to be rampant in El Paso but I know it’s all over Texas) this blessed furbaby endured. At least the parent immediately took the poor baby to the doctor! I agree with Frank Verdeaux’s post, why would anyone leave their babies with these two?! Did she bother to check on their baby during her absence? And by that I mean via phone camera because I wager these two might just lie. (Sarcasm intentionally meant) Please get better Precious Soul.
