~ Oiginal story:

On Monday, February 22, Boardman Police Department were called in the early morning to the Red Roof Inn in Boardman after guests reported sounds of a dog who was being hurt.

WKBN reports that Animal Charity of Ohio responded to the scene and officers discovered a 4- or 5-month-old female Pitbull puppy in bad shape and with a broken leg.

Ms. Mary Louk, with Animal Charity of Ohio, said: “It sounded like the dog was being abused in some way, shape or form. She couldn’t bear any weight on one of her legs. She was very, very timid. She was very, very scared. If she was being beaten, that it could be possible that she could have internal injuries that we are not aware of.”

The furbaby was taken to a veterinary hospital in Akron.

In a Facebook post, the Animal Charity of Ohio referred to the furbaby as Isabella.

According to the post, Isabella was taken to “Akron Metro to try and save her leg.”

Part of the post reads: “Her name is Isabella. She is only 4 months old. Just a tiny little baby and she has been beaten so badly that she will be going to Akron Metro to try to piece her broken bones back together. She will staying at least one night for observation, there is concern she has internal injuries. She is so shy and so scared. Her little life has been such a nightmare so far.”

As the organization pointed out, Isabella has “a long road ahead of her to overcome her physical and psychological injuries.”

Animal Charity of Ohio advises that Isabella is not available for adoption just yet.

When Ms. Louk was interviewed by WKBN she said she hoped the community would step in and help toward the baby’s medical care.

Well, the community did step in and since every little helps, if you can afford to make a donation, please visit the organization’s website. Thank you!

As for the criminal aspect of this story, 31-year-old DANTE MASON (pictured below smiling proudly of his actions), is the COWARD who beat the innocent puppy unable to fight back and incapable of dialing 911 to report her own abuse!

According to online records, MASON is behind bars at Mahoning County Jail for animal cruelty charges.

Meanwhile, Animal Charity of Ohio and the police are jointly working on the case and will talk with county prosecutors about filing more charges.

Many thanks to those who alerted the authorities!
