CHRISTY MICHELLE ANDERSON arrested on animal cruelty charges

- Louisiana, USA -

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office (NPSO) has announced the arrest of 41-year-old CHRISTY MICHELLE ANDERSON (pictured below), of the 400 block of Coffee Crossing Road in Ashland.

In a Facebook post the Sheriff’s Office wrote that on Tuesday morning, October 27, deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Bureau responded to a report of animal neglect at ANDERSON’s address.

Deputies discovered several dogs chained to trees and t-posts around the exterior of the home.

Four Pitbulls and two small dogs were found without any food and the small amount of drinkable water was filthy.

All the poor souls were found to be living in squalid conditions.

Three of the dogs were extremely malnourished and very weak.

The post continues to say that in an adjacent large fenced area, deputies found the skeleton remains of a domestic pig who died of unknown causes.

Animal Control were called in.

Officers seized all six dogs for veterinary evaluation.

While officials were there, ANDERSON was not present.

A further investigation tracked down ANDERSON at a residence on Campti Bayou Road in Campti.

She told investigators she was the animals’ guardian and said she knew “this was coming.”

Deputies say it appeared that ANDERSON abandoned the animals and did not properly take care of them.

ANDERSON was charged with six counts of cruelty to animals.

The case will be turned over to the Natchitoches Parish District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution.
