~ UPDATE: October 28, 2021 - Jury convicts DELAUDER of animal cruelty
On Tuesday, October 26, a Barton County jury convicted 33-years-old CHRISTOPHER BRADLY DELAUDER (pictured below) of cruelty to animals and criminal trespass for stabbing a defenseless dog to death in 2020.
Great Bend Tribune reports that jury selection began on Monday and the trial concluded the following day. After all the evidence was presented, the jury deliberated for approximately half an hour and then delivered the verdict.
DELAUDER is scheduled to be back in court on January 14, 2022 for sentencing.
The animal cruelty charge carries a ridiculous sentence of up to only one year in the Barton County jail. The criminal trespass charge can carry an additional six months.

The Barton County Sheriff's Office wrote in a Facebook post that on the afternoon of Thursday, November 4, deputies responded to an animal cruelty report at a residence in Susank.
Upon arrival, witnesses led deputies to a kennel, where inside a Dalmatian had been stabbed to death.
Witnesses described 32-year-old CHRISTOPHER BRADLY DELAUDER (pictured below), as the male who had stabbed the furbaby.
Sheriff Brian Bellendir said that DELAUDER approached the deputies and admitted to killing the dog but could not give a reason for doing it.
An investigation revealed that the defenseless dog was inside the kennel at the family’s residence.
DELAUDER entered the kennel and stabbed the dog at least eight times.
The murderer was arrested at the scene for felony cruelty to animals and criminal trespass.
DELAUDER was booked into the Barton County Jail where he has since posted a $2,500 bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
