- Georgia, Washington County, USA -

Washington County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 39-year-old CHICO MCLOON (pictured below) of Hazelhurst.

On April 19, MCLOON was booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of cruelty to animals, three counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, criminal trespass, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

MCLOON’s wife, 36-year-old TONYA MCLOON (pictured below), was arrested in November 2019 on charges of animal cruelty and two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.

The Sheriff’s Office Facebook post explains that these arrests are in connection with an investigation that began in early November 2019.

Following a complaint of animal cruelty and neglect, Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies, investigators, and Sandersville/Washington County Animal Control executed a search warrant on a residence on a Pringle Road address in Harrison.

The post continues to say that initial responding deputies discovered a dead dog that appeared to have been shot and tied to a post.

Not only that, but inside the property, deputies and investigators also discovered more dead animals, malnourished dogs and neglected animals.

A firearm believed to have been used to shoot the furbaby was confiscated from the home.
