The Ross County Humane Society said in a news release that they are “currently in possession of four dogs found in extremely poor condition after being abandoned in the former Watt Street Feed and Watt Street Grooming and Pet Services building in Chillicothe.”
The organization said that on February 16, a concerned citizen contacted the Ross County Dog Warden’s office about “dogs inside 840 Washington Avenue, the address of Watt Street feed, which has been abandoned.”
On the scene, the Dog Warden saw four dogs, and the floor of the building where the dogs were found was “covered in feces, large amounts of dog fur, and debris.”
There was no water or food for the poor souls and there was no electricity either.
The Dog Warden then contacted the Ross County Humane Society as two of the four dogs required immediate medical attention.
The two furbabies, a 5-year-old Border Collie and a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees, were extremely dehydrated and emaciated, only scoring a body condition score of 1 out of 9, said the Humane Society. They were transported to North Fork Animal Clinic to be treated.
The Border Collie struggled to stand due to his/her poor condition.
The Great Pyrenees was treated for an 8-inch open wound on his/her hip.
The Humane Society said that while the dogs were being examined, they were scanned for microchips and the chip on the Border Collie revealed information about a previous guardian.
When she was contacted, she explained that she had given the dog to CATHY S. COBB, to treat the dog for skin issues over a year ago.
COBB is the former owner of Watt Street Feed and Watt Street Grooming and Pet Services.
Unfortunately, the other three dogs did not have microchips.
COBB is now being charged with four counts of cruelty to animals, four counts of failure to license, and two counts of serious harm to a companion animal which are 5th degree felonies in Ohio.
Ms. Jenn Thomas, executive director of the Ross County Humane Society recommends calling the Dog Warden at (740) - 772 - 5929 for well-being checks if a dog seems to be in a dangerous or unhealthy situation.
Ms. Thomas rightfully said: “There are options available for those who need help, and this didn’t need to happen. These dogs suffered needlessly.”

Something's very fishy about the woman who left her dog with her to be "treated" OVER A YEAR AGO???!!!!!! UH, HELLLLOOOOO????!!! DID YA EVER WONDER WHY YOUR DOG WAS GONE FOR SO LONG??!! This is all just beyond comprehension. Can we just start a sterilization and/or euthanization program for all these rotten "people" inflicting abuse upon and murdering ANY living thing?! Authorities don't seem to care if it's "just animals" but we all know damn well these psychos will do it to humans too. Just give 'em half a chance. Oh, once they start doing it to humans, THEN the authorities start to take things seriously. Many times it's too late. They had their chance to preve…
I am the proud parent of both a border collie & Great Pyrenees. Their intelligence is great & they are absolutely no trouble. Regardless no furbaby should be abandoned, especially by a Pet Service!! Honestly it did appear they were abandoned twice, since no one checked on them! I pray this horrid human gets jailed. She should never ever be permitted to be in the presence of another animal! Get better please both of you blessed souls!!
Oh, MY GOD!!! CAN THIS F-ING CRUELTY JUST END PLEASE??!! Hope this bitch dies!!! I wish all these beyond evil piece of shit dirt bags I read about in these stories somehow see themselves on this site and know how much they are despised for what they've done. Then do us all a favour and exit this world!!! You have no souls, no eternal life for you!!!! Adios!!
