CALEB EUGENE SHERIDAN arrested - Three dead dogs and two alive but emaciated, found in his backyard

- Georgia, USA -

Morgan County Animal Control received an anonymous tip regarding the poor conditions of animals at a property on 2451 Fairplay Road in Rutledge. After responding to the report, Animal Control found five dogs at the residence. Sadly, three of them were deceased and the other two were alive but emaciated.

One of the deceased dogs was found in a crate with a dog chain still attached to his/her collar.

The other dead dog was found in a fenced area with one of the live dogs.

A third dead dog was discovered also in a crate like the first one, with a chain still attached to him/her. According to the report, “All three dogs appeared to be severely malnourished, and their rib cages were easily visible through their fur.”

Animal Control then contacted the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigation Unit.

A press release by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and obtained by Voice For Us, described the deceased dogs as “two mix breeds and one Pitbull.”

The live dogs are described as “a hound / Mix, and a Pitt / Mix, both emaciated. Rugy (hound/mix) suffers from heartworms and was severely underweight. Greta (Pitt/mix) heartworm negative, irregularity in her bloodwork, has infection and a skin issue.”

As indicated in the report, Rugy is the white and tan adult male dog who was found in the pen with one of the deceased dogs.

Greta is a white and black adult female who was found chained to a stake in the ground.

The deceased furbabies were taken by Morgan County Animal Control for preservation of evidence.

In connection with this case, on January 19, 2023, Sergeant Newsome with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office took three warrants for the arrest of 23-years-old CALEB EUGENE SHERIDAN (pictured), for felony cruelty to animals.

SHERIDAN was booked into the Morgan County Detention Center and was also issued citations by Morgan County Animal Control which consisted of two counts of Lack of Humane Care, and three counts of Improper Disposal of Body.

The sheriff’s office tells me that “As of Tuesday, January 24, 2023, per Animal Control, both Greta and Rugy have improved and are gaining weight.”

As rightfully stated by the sheriff’s office, “With the available resources in Morgan County, there is no excuse for an owner to have an animal in these conditions.”

Why on earth tie a dog up just to watch them starve & slowly die. Because this slob is a sadistic monster who deserves nothing less than the same misery he made these poor souls endure. There is no excuses, no second chances given, just punish him the same way he punished these babies. Rugy & Greta you are safe now, please thrive. To the three blessed souls whom authorities arrived too late to save, run free babies...run free.
