BYRON PEREZ charged for leaving his dog in a cold unheated car with the engine not running

- New York, USA -

On Saturday, January 29, 2022, the Suffolk County SPCA charged 34-years-old BYRON PEREZ with one count of violating the Suffolk County Code and one count of the Agriculture and Markets Law, for leaving his dog in a cold unheated car with the engine not running.

The organization explained in a news release that its officers along with Suffolk County Police had gone to a home on 232 44th Street in Lindenhurst, to discover that PEREZ had left his black Labrador mix dog in the vehicle with outside temperatures ranging between 14 degrees and 18 degrees.

The furbaby had no ready access to any food, water, or any indoor or heated facility.

Despite this incident, the furbaby was NOT REMOVED and was returned to PEREZ.

Bronx News reports that Suffolk SPCA Chief Roy Gross said: “On this particular charge of 353D, which is a Suffolk law, if a person could not be found then the dog would be removed. The dog is OK and appears to be healthy. We will be following up again to make sure this does not occur again obviously.”

Chief Gross also added: “Unfortunately, a lot of these people do not go to jail, and they should. So what messages are we sending out there? We want to get a strong message out there that if you perpetuate a crime against an animal like these, you’re gonna go to jail.”

As explained by Bronx News, “After being charged under the Agriculture and Market Laws in Suffolk and being a first-time offender, the most Perez could face is a $100 fine.”

Nick Fusco, of Massapequa Park, rightfully said: “It’s inhumane. It shouldn’t have happened. Just like pretend, a baby is in the car. That’s what they are. That’s your kids in the car. You wouldn’t leave your kids unattended in the car. Absolutely not. Throw the book at him.”

PEREZ is slated to appear in in First District Court, Central Islip on the late morning of Friday, February 18, 2022.

PEREZ also had an outstanding arrest warrant.

Of course the human monster was inside his toasty home not giving a care about the poor furbaby freezing outside. So slap him on the wrist with a possible $100 fine, return the precious soul to this monster, telling him we will be checking back on you…wait you have an arrest warrant cuz you’re an abomination of the human species. Please get this gentle lab a true loving home where he/she won’t be forgotten again! Oy! These human feces boil my blood!
