On Wednesday afternoon, July 29, the Slidell Police Department received a call about a puppy in distress.
Officers responded to Walmart on 39142 Natchez Drive and found a small puppy, approximately 6 months old, locked inside a vehicle in the parking lot.
The Department wrote in a Facebook post that the puppy was “yelping, spitting up blood, and was lethargic. One witness forced their way into the car in order to render aid to the puppy.”
The furbaby, named BoeBoe, was immediately rushed to the nearest veterinary clinic.
BoeBoe had an internal temperature of over 109 degrees and was declared brain dead.
Sadly, the decision was made to euthanize BoeBoe.
27-year-old BRITTNEY ROBERTSON (pictured below), eventually came out of Walmart and was cuffed for an aggravated cruelty to animals charge.
ROBERTSON was inside Walmart for over an hour while the poor furbaby was slowly suffering and losing his precious life.
According to the Department’s post, ROBERTSON told officers that cracking the windows was enough to allow sufficient air for the puppy.
The windows were slightly cracked but the vehicle was not running.
BoeBoe’s killer was booked into the Slidell City Jail and later transferred to the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
I wonder whether this cruel, heartless, airhead female was kept nice and fresh with AC on while being transferred to Slidell City Jail.
Slidell Police say that if convicted, “ROBERTSON shall be fined not less than five thousand dollars nor more than twenty-five thousand dollars or imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not less than one year nor more than ten years, or both.”
