Boston Police seek animal cruelty charges after dog found with her muzzle banded shut

- Massachusetts, USA -

After a dog was found with a band around her muzzle in Boston, Animal Control asked the Boston Police Department to file animal cruelty charges.

The furbaby was found on April 4, running down Townsend Street. Thankfully, a passing driver spotted her and after putting her into his vehicle, called 911.

Investigators said that the dog, a 5-year-old Poodle mix, had a severe injury to her mouth, as if someone tied a rope around her, and was thin and dirty.

Boston 25 News reports that according to the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, veterinarians “found aband or objecttied around the furbaby’s muzzle, which caused a ‘grossly swollen muzzle and foul odor’.”

After the object was removed, the dog underwent surgery to clean the wound and repair the injury.

Veterinarian Emily Walz with Parks and Recreation explained that the object “was making her unable to eat, which is why she ended up so thin. But since she’s been here, she’s been a wonderful little girl. She’s still very happy.”

Dr. Walz said that since the furbaby has been on antibiotics, she’s been able to eat and gained more than a pound!

Investigators said that the VOICELESS VICTIM is microchipped, so they contacted the person who on files is listed as her guardian.

This person, however, told investigators she had given the dog away.

As reported by Boston 25 News, “Animal Control has tracked down the person last reported to own the dog.”

The agency has asked the Boston Police Department to file animal cruelty charges.

Oh good G-d, what the eff is wrong with humans?! The display of cruelty towards animals appears to be increasing & could some of that be due to the fact they are NOT being held responsible?! Mahatma Gandhi stated The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” Our greatness is questionable, our morals are wanting, it is up to the good-hearted to make the difference count. Thank you Voice For Us, for bringing this cruelty out of the dark & into the light so it can be addressed. Please get better Precious Soul.
