The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA) reports that they received a call from a member of the public about a dead dog near Ballinahone, Burnfoot, Co. Donegal.
Senior Inspector Kevin McGinley responded to the scene.
I personally think that it does not matter how long you have worked in animal rescue, or how many horrific scenes you have come across, finding an innocent animal dumped as if he/she was trash ALWAYS breaks your heart!
The body of a female German shepherd was discovered wrapped in a plastic shower curtain and dumped in a drain.
Inspector McGinley said: “It was shocking and irresponsible to discover an animal discarded in this manner, clearly showing no respect for either the dog or the environment.”
ISPCA said that Inspector McGinley scanned the furbaby, but she was not chipped.
He explained: “I scanned the deceased dog for a microchip and although microchipping is a legal requirement, there was no chip present, making it difficult to locate an owner.”
Someone knows something and that someone needs to do the right thing and come forward and speak for this innocent being!
We are the ears and the eyes of the authorities and this innocent angel is counting on us to give her justice.
