Animal Control was called by a person who bought a dog from someone at an address on Indian Mound Road in Ware Shoals.
The dog’s health was in poor condition so animal control officers investigated the matter.
On Tuesday, January 14, Animal Control and the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a property on 10702 Indian Road and discovered a devastating reality.
Dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens and ducks were found to be kept in unsuitable conditions and as a result of this, BARBARA TIMMS and her son BARRY DAVIS (both pictured below), were accused of running a puppy mill operation.
They were arrested Wednesday, January 15, and charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty.
On Wednesday, Laurens County Animal Control, as well as the Anderson PAWS organization removed each and every animal from this residence.

WLOS reports that Cashiers Highlands Humane Society plans to head to Laurens County on Friday, January 17, and bring back 20-25 dogs.
The Sheriff’s Office also wrote that they are actively investigating the criminal aspect of this case and more charges are pending at this time.
