AUGUSTA ANTONIO WALKER JR. arrested for animal cruelty following drug bust

On the evening of January 30, 2021, the West Monroe Police Department Street Crimes Unit was at a residence on the 400 block of Drew Avenue in West Monroe to execute a narcotics search warrant.
Inside the residence officers discovered a dog who was suffering from severe injuries.
The furbaby appeared to be approximately 6-8 months old and had wounds on his/her face and legs and was very skinny. The pup was lying next to urine-soaked pads that had been there for several days. Police said the dog was conscious but did not move from the spot and animal control was then called in.
While animal control officers were there, a male identified as 24-years-old AUGUSTA ANTONIO WALKER JR. (pictured below) arrived and walked up to the front porch of the house demanding to come inside to get the dog and see the search warrant.
According to the arrest report multiple officers instructed WALKER to go back to the road and wait until they finished with the search.
WALKER was agitated and would not follow officers’ commands, stated the report.
As an officer instructed WALKER to leave, WALKER continued to argue and would not leave.
WALKER was then told he was detained for interfering with an investigation.
An officer attempted to put WALKER in handcuffs but WALKER pulled away and began to resist. He was finally placed under arrest after a brief struggle.
The arrest reports stated that WALKER said the dog was his and he was coming to get him/her.
WALKER then stated the pup had got the injuries from being hit by a car a few weeks earlier. WALKER said he did not take the dog to a vet for a treatment.
Animal control took the VOICELESS VICTIM into their care.
The subhuman was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on one count of cruelty to animals and one count of resisting an officer, both misdemeanors.
Online records show the subhuman bonded out of jail the day after his arrest!
