Ms. Hunter Cason (pictured below) is heartbroken over the loss of her baby French Bulldog she named Fendi.
Although Fendi passed away in November, Ms. Cason just recently came forward with her story when she saw on the news that something similar had happened to another person.
She wants to warn people to be careful so she contacted News 4.
Ms. Cason bought Fendi from Petland in Lake St. Louis.
She said when she saw Fendi it was love at first sight and she just had to get her.
Fendi went everywhere with her mom and immediately created a bond with her human siblings.
Sadly, only six days after they brought Fendi to what was supposed to be her loving and furever home, she passed away.
Ms. Cason explained in an interview that one day after drinking from a water dish she just stopped breathing and collapsed.
When she called Petland, reportedly, they told her they were not going to refund the $8,000 she financed to get Fendi, but they could replace her.
To that, Ms. Cason rightfully responded that you don’t replace a family member that you love.
She tearfully said: “It took me forever to put her in a box. I did not want to.”
A similar experience broke another person’s heart.
Ms. Myrna Evert got her Maltese puppy named Crystal from Petland and sadly she did not survive more than two weeks.
Petland did not refund Ms. Evert either.
Crystal is the white pooch in the last picture with Fendi.
Petland previously told the TV network that all pets are examined by three vets before they are sold.
