On Wednesday afternoon, October 30, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office was called by a woman reporting her dog being missing.
Deputies responded to a property on Sabrina Drive in Macomb Township.
The caller told deputies that she had placed her Havanese named Nella in her crate before leaving in the morning but when she returned hours later, she found Nella’s hair, feces and blood in different areas of the home, and the crate was damaged.
She also said that the only other person living in the home and that was present at the time, was 27-year-old ANDREA BIONDO.
A surveillance video not only showed BIONDO carrying the defenseless pup by her neck out of the property, but he can be seen putting a hammer and a backpack in his vehicle before leaving.
ANDREA BIONDO was arrested when he came back home.
He admitted to harming Nella but said she ran away.
The Macomb Daily reports that Nella was found on Saturday, November 2, by a neighbor.
Assistant Macomb Prosecutor Derek Miller said that the poor pup is being treated by a veterinarian and that she suffered injuries.
On Friday, November 1, BIONDO was arraigned on a count of second-degree killing of an animal, a count of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic possession and controlled substance possession.
He was given a $20,000 bond and is scheduled back in court November 7.
