On Friday, January 29, 44-year-old AMANDA BAUGH turned herself into the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office on charges of cruel treatment of an animal and violation of animal owner’s duty.
WCSJ News reports that the Sheriff’s Office received information about animal welfare at BAUGH’s home on Bell Road in rural Kirkland.
BAUGH was then questioned.
On Saturday, January 23, the Sheriff’s Office was alerted by a veterinary clinic that an animal from BAUGH’s home had been brought in, and sadly the animal died due to lack of proper food, water, shelter, and veterinary care.
When police searched BAUGH’s home on Thursday, January 28, officers did not find any additional animals who needed care.
BAUGH, of Kirkland, was released after posting bond but the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office says the investigation is ongoing.
