AMANAHY BECERRA ZEPEDA arrested for performing illegal medical procedures on animals resulting in suffering and death

The Visalia Police Department announced the arrest of 24-year-old AMANAHY BECERRA ZEPEDA (pictured).

Police said in their press release that the Department’s Property Crimes Unit received reports about a woman who was performing medical procedures on animals without proper qualifications or training.

An investigation was launched and detectives “found evidence that some of these procedures were being recorded and shared on social media,” stated the press release.

Moreover, detectives determined that proper anesthesia was not used and that not only caused the furvictims to endure intense and unnecessary pain, but it inevitably led to the animals suffering serious complications that required emergency veterinary care.

According to police, sadly, one innocent dog did not survive.

Detectives said BECERRA ZEPEDA claimed to be licensed and offered pet guardians services at a significantly discounted and competitive rates. She performed ear-clippings, spaying and neutering procedures, among others, which are illegal without proper credentials.

A warrant for BECERRA ZEPEDA’s arrest was issued and she was taken into custody on April 29, 2026. She faces felony animal cruelty charges. Detectives also executed a search warrant at her residence. 

BECERRA ZEPEDA was booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility and released after posting bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
