The Wake County Sheriff's Office arrested 30-year-old AMALFI AVIDAI ROBLERO-HERNANDEZ (pictured), of Cary.
According to the sheriff’s office, a woman reported that a boer doeling, a young female goat, was stolen from a nearby farm in west Raleigh in May of this year.
On June 13, 2026, the missing doeling was found wandering around an apartment complex in Cary. The poor soul, approximately 4 months old, with a white body, black head, and black ears, was injured.
The Joint work of the Cary Police Department’s Animal Control Unit and North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine determined that the doeling was injured during a “crime against nature.”
According to investigators, ROBLERO-HERNANDEZ assaulted and tortured the doeling causing a two-inch horizontal laceration to her reproductive tract. Moreover, the attack inflicted on the defenseless doeling also caused bruising and hemorrhaging.
ROBLERO-HERNANDEZ was arrested on June 30, 2026, and charged with crime against nature, cruelty to animals, pursuing or injuring livestock with intent to steal, and larceny.
The investigation remains active and no additional information is available at this time.
