After 30 years in prison for murder LUTHER GRUBBS JR goes back behind bars for animal cruelty

- Alabama, USA -

66-year-old LUTHER GRUBBS JR. (pictured below), was released from prison in 2015 after spending 30 years on murder charges. He was convicted in 1985.

On Thursday, January 30, 2020, prison doors opened up again for GRUBBS JR., this time for aggravated animal cruelty charges.

The criminal was seen dragging his young German Shepherd behind his truck.

Witnesses followed him to a gas station and confronted him before calling the police.

At that point, GRUBBS JR. picked up the injured furbaby and threw him into the back of his truck.

Tarrant Police then responded to the 2500 block of Pinson Valley Parkway.

Detective Cpl. James Butterbrodt said by the time officers arrived, the poor dog had already died from his injuries.

The dog was tied to the truck's trailer hitch by a 2-foot nylon leash.

GRUBBS JR. did not give any explanation for the cruel act.

He was charged with aggravated animal cruelty and is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail on a $45,000 bond.
