A petting zoo was broken into, burgled and vandalized by a group of cruel and idiotic teenagers

- New Jersey, USA -

Police are trying to track down a group of at least six teenagers that broke into the Barnyard Petting Zoo on the night of Saturday, August 22.

Jimmy Abma, owner of Abma’s Farm in Wyckoff said that the trespassers terrorized and abused the animals on the farm.

The young criminals opened gates and pens, they rode the miniature donkeys, they cruelly and stupidly put lipstick on a defenseless pony, and they tried to steal from the property.

One of them took a photo of a blonde girl riding one of the miniature donkeys with her full weight on the poor animal.

Mr. Abma who lives on the property, received a message with the picture tagging the farm and ran toward the barnyard and chased the criminals away.

He also chased away two of them that were trying to steal from his supermarket.

The Daily Mail reports that the blonde female who rode the donkey, has been identified by police as a 17-year-old student-athlete at River Dell High School in Bergen County.

I am sure the school is very proud of her.

Abma’s Farm wrote in a Facebook post: “First and foremost, we are a working farm, and four families (and four generations) live here. This is our home. Second, from a human safety standpoint, breaking in to animal pens with no animal training is dangerous. Animals can kick, rear up, and trample you. In the dark, anything can happen.

Third, the safety of OUR animals has been compromised and that IS. NOT. OKAY. Our animals are now shaken and skiddish [skittish] compared to their normal relaxed nature. This is very troubling to us. A couple of our animals got loose from gates left open but after thoroughly searching this morning, all animals are accounted for.

Our Barnyard will be closed tomorrow, August 24th, to allow our veterinarian to complete a full wellness and health check on all animals.”

Wyckoff Police Department and Tyco Animal Control are now conducting a joint investigation.

Although no arrests have been made yet, authorities have solid leads on the case.

I can’t help it, I have to say this.

These morons could make themselves socially useful and volunteer for community service. There are so many causes they could choose from, there is so much that needs to be done in this world and we should rely on our youth to fix things not to destroy them.

Shame on all of you!!!
