41 dogs taken from a Liberty Hill home are being cared for by Williamson Co. Regional Animal Shelter

- Texas, USA -

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that on Thursday, March 10, its Animal Control Unit removed 41 dogs from a private residence in Liberty Hill.

According to the sheriff’s office the dogs were victims of a possible animal cruelty situation.

The furbabies were safely removed with the assistance of their guardian and transported to the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter.

Police have not revealed the name of the dogs’ guardian.

The Director of the shelter, Ms. Misty Valenta, posted a video on her Facebook account showing the first 20 dogs who had been removed from the home.

The poor souls had to be temporarily placed in the intake room because the shelter already has 150 dogs who need a furever home.

The 41 dogs removed from the Liberty Hill home are not available for adoption yet, but, the 150 furbabies at the shelter are and Ms. Valenta is strongly encouraging people to adopt or foster them so that space can be made in the regular kennels for the new arrivals.

If you can adopt or foster, please visit the shelter’s website. Thank you!

If adoption or fostering is not feasible but you still want to help out, then the shelter is accepting donations to Jane’s Fund, the medical fund to help treat the dogs.

The shelter also needs paper lunch bags, blankets/towels and Science Diet dog kibble.

Items can be dropped off the shelter located at 1855 SE Inner Loop in Georgetown. Thank you!

The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing.

These precious souls are removed from this possible hoarding situation, but alas not necessarily safe until they are in their forever home. Texas does not have the best record for keeping dogs & cats safe due to people letting their dogs & cats ‘run free’. Bless the director of Regional Animal Shelter, Misty Valenta, for reaching out for help in finding fosters & homes for these voiceless victims.
