How far would you go to save someone you truly love?
A very touching discovery was made by Xollin staff on February 13.
Xollin is an animal shelter in the Mexican state of Michoacan.
Outside the shelter employees found a box and inside was a dog, a stuffed animal, and a letter.
The letter was handwritten by a 12-year-old boy explaining the heartbreaking reason for leaving the Pit bull.
The boy wrote:
“My name is Andrés and I am 12 years old. My mom and I decided to leave my dog in your hands, hiding it from my dad because he is thinking about selling him. But he mistreats and kicks him. One day he kicked him so hard that he hurt his tail. I hope you can help and take care of him. I left him a stuffed animal so he won’t forget me.”
The nonprofit has named the beautiful furbaby Rene.
As soon as they posted the story on their Facebook page, they received hundreds of requests of adoption.
The shelter said all animals in their care need a furever home, not just those whose stories have gone viral.
Rene has been examined by a veterinarian and is on his way to a healthy recovery.
